This art work was produced as a tribute to my mother who is no longer with us. We talked a lot, mostly over a cup of tea or coffee, but even when I lived in Australia for a few years, we chatted everyday on the phone.
Mum was ‘old school’ and had lots of sensible advice and old wives tales to share. Many a time she would say “least said soonest mended”, when referring to a difficult situation that she felt was better not to keep discussing.
The art piece demonstrates how conversations and the memories of them fade with time, but fragments remain.
